I love food! Lets just get that out into the universe. I especially love spicy food and anything with potatoes in it (think loaded fries with hot sauce). Given that I learned to cook from a Ghanaian dad and a Ukrainian mom, my eclectic palate is not surprising. Growing up, I would hear fascinating stories about the countries my parents visited while studying in the Soviet Union. So after spending much of my formative years in Ghana daydreaming about traveling the world, you probably already guessed that I also love to travel.
Fast forward through a move to the United States, two degrees and a new job, I found myself living in Philadelphia with my cat. Don’t judge. Perhaps due to a subliminal need to see the world, I chose a profession that required frequent travel. My job back then meant that in any given week, I could be in four different states. The idea to start a blog came to me while on a plane flying somewhere over the Atlantic. At the time, I found it difficult to keep in touch with people. When you find your life consists mostly of rushing through airports (I cannot be the only person that’s always late) around the country, it is nearly impossible to dedicate enough time to friends, family, significant other and still be a functional human being. It seemed like the perfect idea to keep in touch with everyone at once. Of course, the reality of starting a blog was a little more involved than I anticipated (I don’t like to do a half-assed job). Needless to say, it took a few years to bring my idea to life.
The important part of this story is that here you are reading this post! At the danger of sounding ancient, I will admit that even with 30 years of life, I still find myself learning new things. I truly believe that it is never too late to start anything. As a result, this blog will be a sort of “how-to-guide” on whatever I happen to be learning at the moment. I tend to dive head first into whatever it is I am doing, so you can expect to benefit from my experiences. To avoid the risk of being all over the place, I divided the blog into three sections: travel, food and life. The first two are self explanatory, the life section will be everything else (think career, fashion, makeup, hair and whatever else is happening in my life ๐ ).
And when I’m not editing or writing for the blog, you will find me currently living in New York and working my main hustle managing a global pharmaceutical research trial (a girl’s gotta eat!). I like to think of myself as a bit of a corporate bad-ass and that was the inspiration behind the outfit for this blog post. Unfortunately, most of the items I’m wearing have sold out since these photos were taken. But not to worry, I rounded up some similar items below.
